Go fishing straight from your cottage shore
Choose expansive Lake Längelmävesi for zander, pike and perch fishing, or peaceful Lake Niemijärvi for an unhurried day of rowing and fishing. Each cottage has a private shore, jetty and rowing boat.
Two lakes, two different fishing experiences
Längelmävesi offers room for longer trips, lure fishing and trolling. Niemijärvi is a small, clear and sheltered lake where you can start from your own jetty and explore at a relaxed pace by rowing boat.
Längelmävesi
With its many islands and an area of about 13,300 hectares, Längelmävesi is particularly suitable for zander, pike and perch fishing. Conditions on this large lake vary, so take wind, route planning and boating skills into account.
Niemijärvi
Niemijärvi is a small, sheltered lake whose water is described by Järvi-meriwiki as clear and relatively low in humus. It is ideal for fishing close to shore, rowing and relaxed practice for beginners.
What was caught in Längelmävesi?
The 2024 lure-fishing survey by the Längelmävesi fisheries region provides an unusually detailed picture of the lake's fishing opportunities. The figures below are estimates of catches in the joint permit area based on the survey, not a guarantee of catch.
Choose a base that suits your fishing style
At every property below, you can access the lake directly from the cottage's private shore. Check the property page for up-to-date details about the boat and any electric outboard motor.

Anyone under 18 is exempt from the fisheries management fee. However, fishing with multiple rods or fixed gear requires a water-area permit regardless of age.
May I keep fish for food?
Yes, provided the species, minimum size, closed season and any catch quota allow it. Keep only what you will use, dispatch the fish quickly and chill it immediately.
