A dog-friendly cottage near Tampere
Seven of Salkolahti’s ten properties welcome pets. Each has a lakeshore and sauna, and Tampere is about 70 kilometres away, less than an hour by car. Prices start at €58 per night.
Pet-friendly properties are Tuura, Minttu, Pielppa, Huvikumpu, Tontti, Tivoli and Villa Längelmä. Pets are not allowed at Tikkamäki, Vehmaanpirtti or Villa Kiiltäväinen.

Please note the rental season. Eight cottages are available from May to September. Villa Kiiltäväinen and Villa Längelmä are available year-round — see winter cottages.

Choosing a shore for your dog
The shores are natural and vary by property. Tuura has a rocky shore reached by a narrow path with exposed roots, while some properties have gentler access. Check the property photos and Good to know section before booking if your dog has limited mobility or is inexperienced in water.
Pielppa is on a private island with no neighbours. It is the most peaceful choice for a dog that reacts to strangers or noise.
Practical information
The yards are not fenced, so keep your dog under control. The surrounding forest and roads are good for walks. Under Finnish access rights, dogs must be kept on a lead during the bird nesting season from 1 March to 19 August.
Please keep dogs off beds and sofas and remove pet hair before departure. You can also order final cleaning.
